Gothic Lolita clothing patterns for large set girls?

I’m attending Anime Expo 2010 in July (Los Angeles), and I am thinking about dressing in a Gothic Lolita style. Does anyone know where I can find sewing patterns or tutorials on how to make my own outfit. Or a website where curvaceous girls post up tutorials, etc. I am a large set girl, and simply “buying one” is out of the question for me.

You’re unlikely to find a complete pattern, but if you choose a good basic pattern and then work with fabrics and trim, you should be able to come up with a good outfit, whatever your size. Do watch the proportions and how trims hit you — you might want to sketch over a personal croquis or a good photo of yourself so you can plan in advance.

Without knowing your size, I can suggest a few possibilities:
Connie Crawford for Butterick goes up to a 6x: I’d suggest B5047 as a good starting point… change the jacket collar, add width to the skirt, and petticoats underneath.
Butterick 4954 goes to 22, and Simplicity 2887 goes to 24.
The Crawford patterns are designed for D cup in the plus size range, but the others are B cup, so you may need to do a full bust adjustment, which is easiest with a princess seam.
