easing into more of a gothic look.. advice needed ?

I have always loved the gothic look but always cared way more about what my mom thought then what i wanted. now i am a little older and am ready to look the way i want to look, but now instead of my mother i am worried about work lol. where i work clothes don’t matter all that much because we are the behind the scenes people but I don’t want to go to work in jeans and a tee one day and decked out in fishnets and chains the next. What would be some good ways to slowly bring the look into my lifestyle? I was thinking about getting some corset tops because they are still really pretty and dont scream goth but that’s all i can think of lol

Start off with some black/dark colored nail polish, and a little eyeliner. Wear some corset tops, like you said, or dark screen tees, like you would find at hot topic. Go a few weeks, and gradually add accessories. Wrist bands or arm warmers. Goth jewelry. Add a little more eyeliner over time. Maybe some dark lipstick. After a few months, add some more goth-ish pants. You can stick with tight trip pants rather than the huge, baggy ones for a more pretty, less extreme look.
