How do I write a Gothic Story for homework?

I need to write a gothic story for homework and im wondering what i need to have or do in the story to make it “gothic”. Thanks

Overwrought language and heavy atmosphere. Lots of suspense, maybe an unreliable narrator. Ghosts, insanity, curses, crumbling old buildings… things of that sort.
